Donald Trump is the (il)logical outcome of what we saw from 8 years of political dysfunction caused by extremist Republicans in Congress doing all they could to de-legitimatize the nation’s first black/biracial president. Instead of many among the public blaming these Republican white males (and ineffective Democrats who passively allowed this to continue) for their obstruction and refusal to cooperate or compromise with President Obama, they misattributed governmental failures. They blamed Obama for being ineffective when in fact he faced threats to his own survival under such ongoing hostility, which required walking a very fine line. Distracted by so much nonsense, the masses failed to connect the dots to recognize how extreme income inequality now affecting more whites in the middle class was a natural extension resulting from systemic racism. When you intentionally hold some populations back, others will inevitably be affected over time.

Oppressive policies and practices are designed to uphold the racial and gender status quo by white males in power who function like sociopaths, and want to make others suffer by keeping diverse people “in their place.” The deprivation and punitive policies became more prominent to reinforce the status quo as white men in authority worked against the common good, because it would mean lack of success for a black man in the presidency. What we saw was white backlash, a historical pattern where the tentacles of white and male superiority ideology seek to reassert themselves when it is perceived that blacks and women are encroaching on white male power territory.

White people seeking ways to support white privilege are America’s primary problem. They elect incompetent and pathological people — those seeking to prevent empowerment for diverse populations — into positions of authority without thinking about long-term consequences.
