This is the most real article I have read in a long time about what white people need to explore to undo systemic racism and heal from the damaging effects of white superiority ideology.

Beautiful testimony. I hope more white people join you Abe, on this difficult but potentially lovely journey toward internal and external freedom. I hope they will be rewarded with true identity grounded in reality. I wish for them access to the gifts of integrity and wholeness after enduring painful processes of coming to terms with the lies upon which racism is built, and all else you describe here.

I’m most impressed that you abandoned efforts to try to save black and brown people. You are among few white people who honestly recognize that people of color truly do not need white saviors. What we need is to live without fear of harm imposed on us due to systemic racism. We do not need the daily stressors of dealing with hostile and passive aggressive white people who conspire (actively or passively) to deliberately block our access to resources that can support survival and basic quality of life on our own terms.

A toast to you all, my white brothers and sisters, who truly seek to become authentic. You have my respect due to knowing that we have all been socialized in ways that harm individual development and damage human relationships. Indeed, the liberation of diverse humanity is tied to all of us.

Blessings.
